Refresh All Tabs Chrome — last updated: October 2026
This policy explains how the developer of Refresh All Tabs Chrome (“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with the Refresh All Tabs Chrome browser extension (“the extension”) and this website. By using the extension or the website, you agree to this policy; if you don't, please don't use them.
The short version
Refresh All Tabs Chrome collects nothing. It has no servers, no analytics, and no accounts. Everything it does happens inside your browser.
What the extension does
When you click its toolbar icon, it asks Chrome to reload your open tabs. When the tab you were on finishes loading, it shows a small confirmation message at the bottom of that page (or a green check mark on the icon, on pages where extensions can't show anything).
To decide which tabs to reload, the extension looks only at basic tab state that Chrome provides: each tab's internal number and window, whether the tab is sleeping or not yet loaded, and — if you chose to skip tabs playing media — whether the tab is currently playing sound. This is checked in the moment of your click and is never stored or sent anywhere.
The extension never reads page content, page addresses (URLs), titles, form data, cookies, or your browsing history.
Data stored on your device
- Your settings (which windows to refresh, standard or hard reload, and whether to skip tabs playing media) are saved in
chrome.storage.sync. If you're signed in to Chrome, Google may sync them across your devices under Google's privacy policy. - A temporary note with the number of the tab that should show the confirmation is kept in
chrome.storage.session. It is removed once used, replaced on your next click, and always erased when the browser closes.
None of this ever leaves your browser to reach us. We have no systems to receive it.
Information you send us
The only personal information we ever receive is what you choose to send us:
- Emails to our contact address. We use your email address and message only to reply to you, and delete them once the conversation is finished, at the latest after 12 months.
- Uninstall survey answers (see below). We use them only to improve the extension and delete them after 12 months at the latest. Please don't include personal details in your answers.
Sharing and selling
We don't collect personal data, so we don't sell it, share it with third parties, use it for advertising, or use it to determine creditworthiness or for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single feature: refreshing your tabs.
Permissions explained
- activeTab — temporary access to the tab you clicked the icon on, used only to show the confirmation message there after it reloads. Chrome grants it only when you click, and withdraws it when you go to a different website or close the tab.
- scripting — inserts that confirmation message into the page.
- storage — saves your settings.
- contextMenus — adds the settings to the icon's right-click menu.
The extension has no access to any other website or tab content. It asks for no permission that triggers an install warning.
This website
refresh-all-tabs-chrome.web.app is a static site hosted on Firebase Hosting (Google). It sets no cookies of its own and doesn't interact with the extension. Like any web host, Firebase processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver the pages, under Firebase's privacy terms.
The welcome and uninstall pages use Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to count visits. Umami sets no cookies and stores no personal data: it records anonymous, aggregated information such as the page visited, the referring site, browser, device type, and country, under Umami's privacy policy. We use these numbers only to see how many people open these pages. The extension itself sends nothing to Umami.
When you first install the extension, it opens this site's welcome page once in a new tab.
Uninstall survey
When you uninstall the extension, Chrome opens a page on this website (uninstall.html) with a short, optional survey. The survey is a Google Form embedded in the page, so Google loads it and may set its own cookies while you view it. Answering it is entirely up to you. Anything you type there is handled by Google Forms under Google's privacy policy, and we use it only to improve the extension.
Your rights
Your settings live only in your browser: uninstalling the extension deletes them. For emails or survey answers you sent us, you can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete them, or object to their use, by writing to the address below. If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, we process this information based on your consent and our legitimate interest in answering you and improving the extension, and you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Firebase Hosting and Google Forms are operated by Google, and Umami Cloud by Umami Software; both may process data on servers outside your country under their own safeguards.
Children
The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly receive personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If the extension starts handling any new kind of data, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change. Please check this page from time to time.
